Focus and Scope

International and interdisciplinary journal

Published twice a year

Publisher: Department of Romance Philology and Translation of the School of Foreign Languages at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Journal’s mission is to consolidate scientific research around historical-literary, theoretical, comparative and translation understanding of different national literatures of the world.

Following problematic issues of modern literary and translation character are offered for consideration and discussion on the pages of our Journal:

Typology of styles and directions;

History of modern literature;

Literary genology;

Poetics of literary works;

Time and space in literary works;

Theory and history of non-fiction literature;

Narrative specifics of literary works;

Figurative properties of literature;

System of images in a literary work;

Interpretation of literary works;

Cognitive approach to literary works;

Mythopoetics of a literary work;

Psychoanalytical research of works of world literature;

Theory and history of literary translation;

Ethnocultural specifics of national literatures.

Globalization processes in world literature;

Intermediality of literature;

Comparative and typological research of national literatures;

Comparative and typological research of mono- and polynational literary works ;

Genesis and functioning of traditional plots and images;

Ecocritical approaches, energy, balance, disbalance, transcedentality.

Authors may propose other topics and issues, close to journal’s agenda.

Language of an article: English.

 

 

Peer Review Process

Every article undergoes an anonymous reviewing during a period of up to three months since the date of its receiving.

Anonymous reviewers among leading specialists in the field of the article give their conclusion as to its novelty and actual value, correspondence to the academic style, quality and authenticity of results.

Our lay out staff give their conclusion as to the correspondence of the article to editorial recommendations, check it as to the possibility of plagiarism.

Linguistic editors check grammar and orthography of English texts of the article.

Ethical policy

Articles should correspond to the international rules of academic writing and academic ethics (see: http://ori.hhs.gov/avoiding-plagiarism-self-plagiarism-and-other-questionable-writing-practices-guide-ethical-writing).

All articles are to be checked as to plagiarism.

Articles should present new research of a high academic level that hasn’t been published before.

Open Access Policy

The journal implements immediate open access policy to published reseach articles, supporting the principles of the free dissemination of scientific information and the global exchange of knowledge for the sake of universal social progress.
